Mason County Terms of Use

These rules apply when you use Mason County Property Records. By continuing to use the reference, you accept these terms; stop using it if you do not agree.

1. What This Website Is

Mason County Property Records is a private reference to West Virginia land records, tax data, and parcel maps. It links to public offices but does not host their records and is not affiliated with the County Clerk, Assessor, Tax Office, court, or any government agency.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use the reference only in ways allowed by law. You may not use these pages or information reached through them to:

  • Follow, threaten, harass, intimidate, or injure another person
  • Carry out a false deed filing, identity theft, or other fraud
  • Make a decision for a purpose regulated by the FCRA
  • Copy, scrape, or publish the site's material in bulk
  • Disrupt the reference or attempt to bypass its security

3. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Mason County Property Records is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. Material on these pages and results from linked search tools are not consumer reports and may not be used for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose covered by the FCRA.

4. Not Title, Survey, or Legal Advice

Searching land records does not replace a title examination, boundary survey, or legal opinion. Consult a title company about title, a licensed surveyor about a boundary, and an attorney for legal advice.

5. Links to Outside Sites

Public portals and outside search services set their own rules and privacy practices. We do not control their content, fees, availability, or handling of submitted information.

6. No Warranties

These pages are provided "as is" and "as available" without a warranty. We do not promise accuracy, completeness, continued availability, or correct results from linked portals.

7. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operators are not responsible for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special loss arising from use of these pages or an outside resource, including choices made from a record result.

8. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold the site's operators harmless from claims, demands, and reasonable legal fees that result from misuse of the service or a breach of these rules.

9. Intellectual Property

Copyright protects the original writing, logo, design, and layout. You may link to a page or quote a short passage with credit, but you may not republish full pages or reproduce the material systematically.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms by placing an updated version here. Continued use after the revision takes effect means you accept it.

11. Governing Law

West Virginia law governs these terms without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Public-record requests to covered government custodians are governed separately by the West Virginia Freedom of Information Act, W. Va. Code §§ 29B-1-1 through 29B-1-7, including the response rule in § 29B-1-3.

12. Severability

If a court finds one provision unenforceable, all remaining terms continue to apply.
